Control unit faulty? We repair instead of replacing.

Head units, key fobs and control units — from a frozen Tesla touchscreen to an instrument cluster with pixel errors and a water-damaged engine ECU. Board-level repair in our own lab in Frankfurt, keeping the coding matched to your vehicle.

  • Board level instead of a new part
  • Coding is preserved

What we repair

Drei Bereiche, ein Speziallabor.

Head unit & infotainment

Black screen, boot loop, unresponsive touch, no sound — we repair the head unit at component level instead of replacing it entirely.

Key fobs

Unresponsive buttons, water damage, a broken case, keyless failure — key fobs repaired instead of expensively re-programming a new one.

Control units (ECU)

Engine, ABS, transmission and comfort control units: board-level repair for water damage, dry solder joints and failed output stages.

Case study · Tesla MCU

Tesla black screen: eMMC repair instead of an MCU swap.

Symptom

Black screen, freezing, boot loops — plus loss of the reversing camera and of climate and charging controls via the touchscreen.

Cause

The eMMC flash memory of the Media Control Unit (MCU0/MCU1, Tesla Model S/X approx. 2012–2018) wears out through constant write cycles (logging) — a known wear defect, not bad luck.

Repair

We remove the eMMC at chip level, transfer the data and fit new, longer-lasting memory — instead of replacing the entire MCU.

Result

Touchscreen and infotainment work fully again — considerably cheaper than an MCU replacement and without losing the vehicle configuration.

How our service works

Repaired in three steps.

  1. 01

    Hand it in

Drop by without an appointment in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen — or send it in online.

Questions

Good to know.

Do you replace the control unit or repair it?

Wherever possible we repair at component level (microsoldering). That is usually cheaper than a new part — and the coding matched to your vehicle is preserved.

Are the coding and stored data preserved?

As a rule yes: with a repair, the original data and the coding stay on the unit. A new part would first have to be programmed to the vehicle.

Do you repair Tesla units too?

Yes — the Tesla MCU/eMMC repair (black screen) is one of our specialities, see teslareparatur.de.

How do I get my control unit to you?

Remove it and send it insured, or bring it to Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. The diagnosis tells you in advance what is possible — we only repair after your approval.

Let's go

Remove it and send it in — or bring it by.

No appointment needed in Sachsenhausen — or insured by post. The diagnosis tells you what is possible before anything is repaired. Up to 12 months warranty.
