Is a board repair even worth it?
Often yes — instead of replacing the whole laptop we repair individual components on the mainboard. A well-known example are MacBooks whose graphics chip desolders itself through its own heat. The diagnosis tells you up front whether it pays off.
Will my data be preserved?
As a rule, yes. Back it up beforehand anyway. If the drive itself is affected, our data recovery in our own clean room helps.

What should I do about water damage?
Switch the device off, do not charge it, do not turn it on — and get it to us quickly. The sooner we stop the corrosion, the better the odds.
